Meet Your Speaker
Founder & Executive Director, SWIT-PCa
Dr. Ann Plohal
PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, CRNI
Dr. Ann Plohal is the Founder and Executive Director of the Southwest Institute for Infusion Therapy and Cancer Care (SWIT-PCa). A registered nurse with more than 40 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to improving patient outcomes through education, clinical excellence, and compassionate care.
Ann earned her PhD in Nursing and is a Board-Certified Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS-BC) and a Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI). She is a Past President of the Infusion Nurses Society (INS) and has spent her career educating healthcare professionals, while remaining deeply committed to helping patients and families understand and navigate their healthcare journey.
After walking alongside her husband through his prostate cancer diagnosis and recovery, Ann recognized the need for practical, trustworthy education for patients and caregivers preparing for surgery. Through SWIT-PCa, she now provides free educational resources, webinars, and support to help individuals navigate prostate cancer treatment with greater confidence.
In this webinar, Dr. Plohal combines her extensive nursing expertise with personal caregiving experience to offer practical tips, answer common questions, and help patients and families feel prepared for the journey ahead.
